Why is She Calling Me?
By: Maureen Griffin
Go ahead...raise your hands...it’s ok...how many of us have “ that friend in real estate ”, whom when we see her number pop-up we think, “Why is she calling me?” We instinctively remember that she called...hmm...about 3 weeks ago; certainly she’s not thinking that just 3 weeks later we’d miraculously be looking to sell our home after we came upon a windfall of money - would she?
In short, no, she’s not an overly-optimistic “sales person” who routinely dials her list hoping someone has won the lotto. However, she is a real-life person, who knows that life-changes happen every day to everyone. Did you have a friend share excitedly that they got a new job this week - in another state? Did someone proclaim that they’re getting married in June and can’t wait to find their “dream home” with their honey? Or on the other-side-of-the-coin, is a parent or relative looking at transitioning into assisted living so they can feel safe? Perhaps a sister is finalizing her divorce and wants to move to make a fresh start?
Life happens...we all know that...realtors really know that. A really great realtor knows that their mission is not to buy and sell houses, but to make a difference for people when their lives are taking a different direction. When your “realtor friend” is calling, what she’s really asking is, “Who can I help with their transition this week? Who has a life-change that might require moving? How can I make that move easier for them?”
At Tara Stark Real Estate Group our mission is this - To make a difference by providing the highest quality real estate experience possible with professional results through honesty and integrity. That promise drives every decision we make, every action we take. So the next time you may see us calling...oh, about a month after the last time, know that it’s OK to answer, we just want to know “How can I make a difference for you, your friend, or relative, today?”
